Meet Our CEO

Daisuke Ugaeri began his professional journey with Tokio Marine Group when he joined Tokio Marine & Nichido Fire Insurance Company (TMNF) in Tokyo, Japan in 1994 in the Production Department. He then advanced through various managerial positions. From August 2008 to June 2011, he served as Manager of the Commercial Line Marketing Department. Later, from July 2011 to March 2015, he served as Manager/Deputy General Manager of the Human Resources Department.

Prior to his transfer to the United States, from April 2019 to March 2020, Mr. Ugaeri participated in the executive global leadership program by TMHD. He was also a Visiting Fellow at Columbia University during this time. While working with Columbia University, he researched various management methods and studied the trends of the world economy. Mr. Ugaeri was transferred to Tokio Marine America (TMA) in April 2020 as Senior Vice President of Client Solutions, where he was responsible for managing the company’s Eastern Region Client Solutions Department in New York. In April 2022, Mr. Ugaeri was promoted to his current position of President & CEO.

Mr. Ugaeri received a Bachelor of Law from Waseda University in Tokyo, Japan in April 1994. He views TMA as a second family, believes in being unified with a common purpose, and strongly encourages employees to challenge themselves by asking how they can continually improve.
